Rome wins Milan’s opera director

In a move which has lead to talk of ‘competition’ between Rome and Milan, former musical director of Milan’s La Scala, Riccardo Muti, has accepted the keys to Rome’s Teatro dell’ Opera.

Bridal Gowns from the Heavens

For over half a century women in Rome have been marrying in bridal gowns designed by Elvira Gramano, whose first ever wedding dress literally fell from the heavens, in the form of an American WWII parachute. Since then the Abbruzzo-born stylist has established her atelier as one of Rome’s leaders in bridal outfits.

Europa League: Roma’s 7-1 goal feast

Roma qualified for the Europa League group stages in emphatic fashion, routing Slovak team Kosice with 7-1 (10-4 on agg.). Rivals Lazio also went through, 3-1 on aggregate, despite losing last night’s second leg at Sweden’s Elfsborg.
