Virtus ‘Lottomattica’ Roma, the Italian capital’s top basketball team plays its home games at the PalaLottomatica sports centre in the city’s southern EUR suburb. The Playoffs usually start each May. Roma came second in 2008 but failed to make the final in 2009 and have so far also failed to make much of an impression in the Euroleague. Champions Siena have won the scudetto three years running - 2006-7, 2007-8 and 2008-9 and are favourites again in 2009-10. Could 2009-10, however, be Roma’s season?

[ Events, Exhibition ] 21 Oct-31 Jul: Non Angli sed Angeli, a pilgrimage a mission

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

21 October 2009 to 31 July 2010 |

The Venerable English College opens its subterranean spaces for the first time, with an exhibition that explores the history of the College, from its foundation as a hospice in the 1300s to its transformation into a seminary in 1579. The visitor can share the incredible experiences of those pilgrims who made the long and arduous journey from England to Rome in this period, while also discovering what life was like for those Jesuit priests who made the return journey from the English College itself to Elizabethan England, on mission and in secret. We invite you to experience what it was like to hide in a priest hole, visit a 16th Century London prison and even cross the English Channel ! Non Angli sed Angeli is an exhibition that promises to surprise and intrigue you.
