Emo teen beaten up at Piazza del Popolo

A 14 year-old Roman ‘emo’ boy was hospitalised last week after he and a friend were pounced upon and severely beaten by a rival ‘truzzi’ group.
According to local daily Il Messaggero, 14-year old Giacomo had just left Piazza del Popolo, a popular spot for Roman youths to meet and hang out, and was heading to the Flaminio metro station when the ‘truzzi’ started to harass them.
The ‘truzzi’ - the local name for youths who wear sports-influenced street fashions, baseball caps and typically for boys a quiff stuck to their foreheads - frequently ridicule the emos who they believe are “exhibitionists”. On this occasion, however, the chiding became more physical a nd Giacomo intervened when a friend was hurt. This kicked off a new phase in the violence as about ten truzzi youths piled onto the hapless Giacomo, punching and kicking him until almost unconscious. The boy was taken to hospital where he has already had seven hours of surgery and requires some 90 days follow-up treatment.
Despite the incident, Giacomo has sworn to return to Piazza del Popolo with his emo friends once he is well enough.
Emos typically wear dark clothes, heavier goth-like make-up and listen to emotional hardcore.

What did emo kids ever do? They just have a different style sure but still that doesnt mean you should beat them I think they’re actually cool. I happen to be one. Nothing’s wrong with being emo be who you want but it’s not gonna improve your image becasue you pick on others. GROW UP

im from rome and i know that kid. he’s really called lorenzo but since he’s underaged they didn’t use his real name. he’s doesn’t come to piazza del popolo anymore. the only good thing in this whole story is that the truzzi (the fascist bastards) have stopped annoying us alternative kids since they tryed doing a mass attack in september, and failed.they’re all just fucking cowards.

I’m from America. I once saw this group of scene kids walking down the street and like these two mexicans started beating them up. It was the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen. More people should stand up and say “Fuck your materialism”. I mean, really. It’s as easy as getting a nice wooden bat and smashing their heads to kingdom fucking come.
I hope some psycho starts a holocaust against all emos and scenesters. Fuck it, I’ll join.
