Rome’s Japanese Cultural Institute is running a 7 movie retrospective.
Tourist rebels against centurion rip-off

A Japanese tourist contacted police after being charged €20 for having his photo taken alongside one of the numerous costumed centurions who wait outside the Colosseum and Roman Forum, as Rome’s deputy mayor calls for “more checks”.

Japanese tourists are turning their backs on Rome because of the strong euro, the risks of swine flu and, more worryingly, due to fears over ‘poor quality’ and ‘rip-off prices’.
